Embrace Your Personal Brand: It’s Time to Shine!

Whether you realize it or not, friend, you already have a personal brand. Yep, you heard that right! We’re all brands in our own unique ways. Think of your personal brand as your reputation – how people perceive you based on what they know about you, both online and in person. It’s how you interact, do business, and simply show up in the world.

In today’s digital age, people are doing virtual background checks on you long before they reach out. So, why not take charge of your personal brand and tell your story your way? Here are THREE easy, actionable tips to help you do just that!

Tip #1: Google Yourself

You’ve been searched online, whether you’ve handed out a business card or gone on a first date. Potential clients, partners, and even dates are checking you out online. Have you ever Googled yourself? If not, it’s time! Use an incognito browser to see unbiased results.

What shows up when you search your name? Likely, your social media profiles are at the top. This highlights the importance of a strong social media strategy for a kickass personal brand. Click on the images tab too – do these photos represent how you want to be seen?

Take Action: Clean Up Your Personal Brand

Search your name and see what pops up. Delete inactive social media profiles and remove any content that doesn’t align with your brand. This is all about creating a polished and professional online presence.

Tip #2: Know Your Audience, Know Yourself

Who are you building your personal brand for? Knowing your audience is crucial for creating resonant content. You’re not for everyone, and that’s okay! Find your niche and focus on what you’re great at. Your unique expertise is your secret sauce.

Equally important is knowing yourself. Understanding your own strengths and values helps you be authentic and attract your ideal clients.

Take Action: Define Your Niche

List your skills and the types of people who could benefit from your knowledge. This clarity will help you create targeted content that resonates with the right audience.

Tip #3: Define Your Brand Personality

Your brand personality is a blend of your core values and how you want people to feel when they interact with you. It’s not just about what you do, but how you do it.

For example, my brand values are Trust, Connection, and Fun. Trust means clients feel safe with me, Connection is about building genuine relationships, and Fun ensures every experience is enjoyable.

Take Action: Identify Your Core Values

Pick three words that you want your audience to feel when they interact with your brand. Write them down and put them somewhere you’ll see every day. Live and breathe these values – they are the heartbeat of your personal brand.

Tip #4: Create Amazing Content

Content is the fuel for your personal brand. To become the go-to person in your industry, consistently create valuable content that addresses your audience’s needs. Give away your best advice for free – it builds trust and positions you as an expert.

Take Action: Plan Your Content

Identify common questions from your clients or audience. Create content around these topics. Use tools like Planoly or Later to plan a month’s worth of content. This not only saves time but ensures consistency.

Tip #5: Be Clear, Be Consistent

Clarity is key. Be able to explain what you do and how you help people in a simple, engaging way. Consistency in your message, both online and offline, builds trust and credibility.

Take Action: Simplify Your Message

Craft a clear, concise statement about what you do. Practice it until it feels natural. Your consistency across all platforms will reinforce your brand and build trust with your audience.

So, what exactly are staple images? Think of them as your visual toolkit—a versatile library of photos that consistently represent your brand’s voice and personality. These aren’t just for your website’s main page; they’re the images you can reach for on a busy day when you need to post to social media, update an email newsletter, or create a quick ad.

The Benefits of Your Visual Toolkit

Having this curated collection of images offers incredible advantages for your brand:

👉🏻Consistency and Professionalism: Staple images ensure your brand’s look and feel are always cohesive and polished. When a client sees the same high-quality visual style on your website, social media, and marketing, it builds trust and makes your brand instantly recognizable. This consistency shows you’re a serious, credible professional.

👉🏻Efficiency and Time-Saving: How many times have you struggled to find the right photo for a post? With a library of on-brand images, that problem disappears. You can quickly pull a photo that fits your message, saving you valuable time and the stress of a last-minute search. This allows you to focus on the content of your post, not the visuals.

👉🏻Brand Authority and Storytelling: These images help you tell your brand’s story without saying a word. A great staple image can convey the quality of your work, the energy of your business, and the unique personality behind it all. This helps you build authority and an emotional connection with your audience, making your brand more memorable.

Pro Tip

Your staple image library should include a mix of professional headshots, dynamic “in-action” shots of you working, and detail shots that highlight the tools of your trade or the vibe of your studio. The more variety you have, the more you can say with your images.

Are there any specific types of staple images you’re looking to create for your brand?
