December 27, 2022
Blog  ·  Lifestyle  ·  Photography

When taking corporate headshots, there are a few things you can do to make sure you get the  most out of your photos, and come out of the session feeling happy and excited with the end result!

When you feel relaxed and confident, its much easier to capture those awesome photos you’re going to be sharing all over!!

  1. Get comfortable

Feeling comfortable with getting your photos’ taken is really helpful when it comes to headshots. I know it;s easier said than done, but if you’re really nervous with the thought of getting your picture taken – have your friends or family take some practice shots to make you feel comfortable and at ease!! Make it fun, silly and take them in a space that feels right to you. That way, when you’re gearing up for your official shoot – you can take the feeling from your practice sessions and apply it here

2. Opt for clothing that screams you!

You want YOU to shine through in your headshot session. So, why not wear clothes that you would actually wear or align with your business. Choose an outfit that makes you feel confident, cause trust me … it will show through your photos

3. Get clear on time

Schedule out the timing for your session. This is something I always help my clients with so we are maximizing time and getting as many shots as possible. We can block out photos for certain outfits, locations and more so we know what headshots you want to capture and the vibe you want to give off

4. Get Rest

I know this sounds like a simple one .. but it really makes a difference. When you feel well rested and rejuvenated for your session, your energy really shifts. Feeling awake and refreshed translates in photos!

Don’t worry, when having your headshot taken … its a team effort! I’ll help guide you through each part of your session and make sure you’re fully prepared. That way, you can show up at ease and excited for the magic we’re going to create together!!

This Thanksgiving, I’m extra thankful for every conversation, collaboration, and connection that’s helped my business grow — and for the people behind every brand I’ve had the honour of capturing. You make what I do so meaningful.

Here’s to pausing for a moment to soak it all in, and then heading into the rest of the year with full hearts (and maybe full plates too 🥧).

I’ll be honest — I never feel fully comfortabl I’ll be honest — I never feel fully comfortable in front of the camera. It always feels like so much prep, organizing, and a whole process just to get here. But every single time, it’s worth it.

Stepping in front of the lens is one of those things that pushes you out of your comfort zone — and that’s exactly where growth happens. These self-portraits are a reminder that showing up, even when it feels a little uncomfortable, creates results you’ll never regret.

If you’ve been putting off updating your photos, consider this your sign: it’s worth it, every time
